With the X-Men inexplicably disappearing, a resistance is formed to save mutants in danger. The Gifted is a series that follows a group of mutants hiding from an organization seeking to apprehend and lock them away. Unfortunately, the series grossly underused the character rather than show her full potential as a threat more dangerous than her father. One example is The Gifted's Lorna Dane, aka Polaris, who is the daughter of Magneto. While both shows have no direct connections to the film franchise, some of the characters are related to the movies' heroes and villains. In 2017, the franchise made the leap to television with Legion and The Gifted. Before FOX's merger with Disney, the studios' X-Men universe was getting a second wind following the rejuvenated film franchise kickstarted by X-Men: First Class.
